Out of Indianapolis Rachael Heffner, weighed over 280 lbs (127 kg), started turning things around when a guy she interested in dating refused to go out with her claiming she was too big for him, where she realized it was time to change.
“I liked him and he didn’t like me back, he made it clear that because the way i looked is what made him not attracted to me because I was heavy”
Rachael pointed out that she lost control of her weight gain when her mother got sick and died tragically in 2004, ” I’ve been always a bit chubby when I was a kid, till I gained weight lots of weight after my mum got very sick and passed away.”
“My mum passed away when I was very young, where I didn’t learn anything about nutrition from her and the only advise I had was from my dad about food. I loved high sugary snacks, sodas, and potato chips, I was eating bad food in high quantities” Up until the time I was 20, I had the body mass index BMI of 50, The World Health Organization’s highest categorization of obesity.
Until a new years resolution has helped her to turn her life around. Rachael said that he has received inspiration in the form of rejection from her collage crush. “My biggest motivation was to prove people wrong. In collage i got rejected by this boy whom i wanted to show him what a terrible mistake he had made.”
“She also informed him that he is the reason she started losing weight, that caused him a great shock and led him to apologize for what he said few years back.”
“I’m glad he rejected me, she said. I have actually thanked him for that, as he was the reason I was able to get down to the clothing size I am today, and there is absolutely no point of holding any grudges any more.”
What was Rachael’s secret?
She began cutting down the four fizzy drinks that she was drinking every day, sliced her portion sizes in half and started hitting the gym regularly. She also said that making more home-cooked meals instead or ordering or eating out has been a major help, as well as drinking a full glass of water before and after eating a meal made her feel more full.
Now, at the age of 25 the inspiring healthy revolutionized life style Rachael has embarked on is almost complete; where the last piece of the puzzle is to remove the excess skin she has left with as a result of her major weight loss. She said. “I have been trying to tone up for a while but it didn’t work and its hard to be young with excess skin”.
The 25 year old is crowdfunding the money for the surgery she needs, as well as working three jobs and selling unwanted belongings in her quest to complete this amazing transformation.
